The Master's course in Biorefinery (Bioref Master) is a two-year (120 ECTS) programme, entirely taught in English and jointly operated by four universities, (the Bioref Consortium): the University of Lille, France, the University of Technology of Troyes, France, Cracow University of Technology, Poland and University of Bari Aldo Moro, Italy.Eligible students must hold a BSc in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Biochemistry or equivalent; have a high academic level and good command of the English language.The Bioref programme includes mandatory mobility of students within the Bioref Consortium, based on their choice of specialization according to our partners' expertise, and it leads to the award of multiple degree diplomas with a joint diploma supplement.
Main results
The Bioref Joint Master's course offers comprehensive training in biomass farming, harvesting, and transformation, emphasizing high-value molecule production. It equips students with expertise in bioeconomy and environmental implications of biorefinery implementation. Graduates can directly enter the job market or pursue research, including PhD studies. The program fosters transversal skills like entrepreneurship, project management, and legal knowledge. Through lab work, research projects, and theoretical courses, students develop soft skills such as intercultural communication and scientific literacy, preparing them for global professional environments.
