Summary of the Italian roundtable

The Italian roundtable, organised as part of the RHC-ETIP Annual Conference, kicked off with inspiring presentations by APRE and Bacardi Group, setting the stage for an insightful dialogue on Italy's transition towards sustainable heating and cooling systems.

Flaminia Rocca and Miriam de Angelis from APRE captivated the audience with their presentation on the W4RES project, which focuses on empowering women in the renewable heating and cooling sector. Their innovative approach and commitment to inclusivity sparked enthusiasm among the attendees, highlighting the importance of diverse perspectives in driving sustainable energy solutions.

Next, Antonino Giummulé and Luca Castellino from Bacardi Group took the stage, sharing a compelling case study on industrial energy efficiency and the successful integration of renewable energy sources as part of the SHIP2FAIR project. Their experiences provided valuable insights into the practical application of renewable heating and cooling solutions within large-scale operations.

Following these inspiring presentations, the roundtable delved into critical topics aimed at accelerating Italy's transition to sustainable energy systems. Esteemed panelists, including Marco dall'Ombra from ASSOCLIMA, Roberto Battisti from Ambiente Italia, and Matteo Giacomo Prima from EURAC, engaged in vibrant discussions on measures to promote renewable heating and cooling, the role of citizens in driving the transition, upskilling of workers, and the current state of financing for such projects in Italy.

Guiding the conversation, Gabriele Pesce from Euroheat & Power, moderated the roundtable, ensuring that every perspective was heard and fostering a collaborative atmosphere.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the speakers, panelists, and participants for their valuable contributions to this thought-provoking event. Their expertise and dedication have paved the way for a greener and more sustainable future in Italy. As we move forward, we remain committed to implementing the insights gained from this roundtable and continuing the journey towards renewable heating and cooling solutions. Stay tuned for future updates and events as we work together to create a cleaner and more sustainable world.
