This service-based approach simplifies the replacement of fossil-fuel heating systems, overcomes split incentives in leased buildings, and improves access to efficient, low-carbon heating solutions.

Main results

The project will deliver a validated and scalable Heat Pumps on Subscription (HPoS) model, demonstrated through pilot implementations in France, Austria, and Greece, while also supporting market uptake in Ireland. These activities will showcase the technical, financial, and operational feasibility of the approach in real-life leased commercial and public buildings. Key results include proven business and financing schemes, reduced barriers for heat pump adoption, and strengthened collaboration between building owners, tenants, and solution providers. The project will also provide policy and regulatory recommendations, highlighting mechanisms such as white certificates and demand-response schemes to support wider market uptake across Europe.
