Solutions developed
Jean Monnet Module “Promotion of European skills and approaches for sustainable bioeconomy in the conditions of Ukrainian acute challenges” (PESAB) builds upon the successful implementation of international scientific and educational grants and projects of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, as well as through the initiated interdisciplinary Bachelor's degree program in Bioeconomics. The main goal of PESAB is to promote the knowledge of the EU in order to develop a sustainable bioeconomy in Ukraine in accordance with the EU strategy for the Bioeconomy.
Main results
The project envisages the creation of a module, which provides for obtaining by students of various Bachelor's and Master's degrees the additional skills in the sustainable bioeconomy. Within the module, we offer three courses: 1) Sustainable biomass potentials of the EU and Ukraine; 2) Bioeconomics and trade in the context of international relations between Ukraine and the EU; 3) Strategies of sustainable bioeconomy of the European Union. Dissemination of the best EU practices in sustainable bioeconomy will be carried out through the introduction of new courses for students, trainings for teachers, conferences, workshops, round tables, scientific and practical seminars. This will develop interdisciplinary skills among students, pupils, teachers and the public by drawing on the positive experience of EU to provide the implementation of producing bioenergy and overcoming food crisis in the conditions of Ukrainian acute challenges.
