Scaling next-generation geothermal for industrial heat: an opportunity for Europe’s energy security

28 October 2026 - 28 October 2026 Online

Heat is key to industry and Europe's dependency on imported fossil fuels for heat and their volatile prices has been increasingly exposed since 2022. For energy security, for competitiveness, and for climate, Europe's industrial sector needs sources of reliable, affordable, and clean process heat.

FCA's new joint report examines how geothermal can provide a domestic, baseload source of industrial heat by identifying 30 promising industrial clusters across 11 European countries and outlining the policies needed to turn that potential into bankable projects.

The webinar will feature keynote addresses by former EU Commissioner for Energy Andris Piebalgs and European Parliament Vice-President Martin Hojsík.

The webinar will take place on Wednesday, 28 October 2026 from 14:30 to 15:30 (CET).
