Online Workshop: Renewable Energies & Grids: Grid-supporting Integration of Renewable Energy Technologies in Electricity and Heating/Cooling Grids?
As the share of renewable energy (RE) increases – in part due to the EU’s new accelerated timeline as part of the Renewable Energy Directive, it will need to be incorporated into the greater energy system. Effective grid integration, therefore, is a vital part of the transition to a renewable energy system.
Grid technology should be flexible and stable, in both electricity and heating/cooling grids. Due to rapid innovation of renewable technologies, the grid framework should have a long-term perspective, accounting for future capacities and targets. The regulatory framework and market design should allow for continued RE development and system variability.
During this online session, organised by EUREC, speakers will provide recommendations for effective integration of renewable energy in grids.
