In 2019, the RHC-ETIP prepared its first strategic document, the 2050 Vision for a 100% Renewable Heating and Cooling Sector in Europe. It helps to understand the potential of the various renewable heating and cooling technologies and it shows, through a multidisciplinary approach, the way to follow to achieve a carbon-free HC sector by 2050. Both technical and non-technical issues are discussed, along with the presentation of relevant best cases. The 2050 Vision was presented at the 100% Renewable Heating and Cooling for a Sustainable Future Conference & Workshop, which the RHC ETIP organised on the 28th October in Helsinki, Finland.
Experts from the RHC-ETIP are now working on a new document, a Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) to identify the main R&I priorities to address market barriers in the deployment of renewable heating and cooling solutions. The RHC ETIP will published the second strategic document by the end of 2020.
